GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Students explore alternative approaches to program evaluation and intervention research with emphasis on determining what impact integration of new research methods into programs has on the nature of teaching and learning.

Building on instructional improvement projects conducted in previous courses, students design a research of evaluation plan that is implemented in the end of the course.

Students apply objective and empirical methods to document the cause and effect relationship between the intervention and the designed results. Class members gain an understanding of diverse data collection procedures including observation, outcome, and questionnaire-based methods, as well as how to gather data on the field.

Research design applicable to educational settings are reviewed.
